The Bund & Huangpu River
The bund, Shanghai Huangpu River is not only the mother river of Shanghai, which divides the city into east and west parts, but also assembles the splendid attractions of the city. Situated on the west bank of the Huangpu River, the Bund is the symbol and highlight of a Shanghai vacation. New finance and commercial houses as well as grand buildings built in 1930s in the European architectural styles cluster along the Bund. At night bright lights add to the happy atmosphere as people stroll along the wide riverside promenade.
Known as the 'Oriental Paris', Shanghai is a shopper's paradise. There are various bustling commercial streets and shopping centres waiting for the shopaholic. One of the musts for visitors is the Nanjing Road. Huaihai Road intrigues those with modern and fashionable tastes, while North Sichuan Road meets the demands of ordinary folk. Xujiahui Shopping Centre, Yuyuan Shopping City and Jiali Sleepless City are also thriving and popular destinations.
Nanjing Road Nanjing Road is considered to be the 'No. 1 commercial street in China', which has been a landmark for this city for a long time. Along its 5.5 kilometres, you will find over 600 shops that on average are visited by some 1.7 million people each day. Here, you could purchase everything wanted, spanning from special and cheap souvenirs to the luxurious world famous brands.
Yuyuan Garden Yu Garden is the largest of Shanghai's ancient gardens with Ming and Qing architectural styles. The garden has six areas, each with its own style. The Grand Rockery, in the centre of the Garden, is the most renowned sight. Near the garden, there is the Old City God Temple, where various local snack shops and streets are scattered around.

Fried Stuffed Buns
If you are a foodie, then you are welcome to enjoy one of great but cheap things to do in Shanghai in the snack street near the Old City God Temple, which is connected to the Yuyuan Tourist Mart. You can taste nearly all kinds of local snacks here, such as Nanxiang Steamed Stuffed Buns, Chop Rice Cakes, Vegetable Stuffed Buns, Crab-Yellow Pastries and Cream Spiced Beans. And don’t forget the Fried Stuffed Buns, when eaten with Beef Vermicelli Soup, they're really delicious.
Tianzifang: Creative Leisure Block
Speaking of free things to do around Shanghai, Tianzifang is a must-see place. It is converted from the unique local Shikumen complex which is a type of traditional residence combining the western and Chinese characteristics. The block is the work base of many litterateurs and artists. There are some unique boutiques such as vintage glasses store and old-fashioned music boxes shop, as well as trendy clothing stores from Hong Kong. In addition, you can find some interesting and creative restaurants here. This place is certainly one of the best places to visit in Shanghai.
Have Fun in Shanghai Disneyland
Having fun in the Disneyland must be the best thing to do in Shanghai with kids. This is the first Disneyland Park on China’s mainland, which is located in Pudong new area. Here you can experience many "firsts" of the Disneyland including the largest Disney castle, the first pirate theme park and the longest Disney parade route. No matter, children and adults can find the joy in this magic kingdom. In addition, it is recommended to avoid peak hours such as holidays and weekends. If you can only go in these times, probably you will need to join long queues.
Shanghai is fascinating for night owls. The Bund is an absolute must for visitors. The rippling Huangpu River, characteristic buildings on the west bank and extraordinarily futuristic skyscrapers on the east bank all become more enchanting adorned in sparkling coloured lights at night. A night cruise on the Huangpu River is highly recommended. For art lovers, the Grand Theatre and Oriental Art Centre will delight a visitor's taste. For those seeking relaxation, the ideal choice should be Hengshan Road and Xin Tian Di which are thronged with a variety of nightclubs, discos and bars.

After careful consideration regarding to the Omicron pandemic in China, the host and organizing committee reviewed all options and decided to postpone the ICCT 2022 Conference to October 18-20, 2023.
We can have an online option but still we chose an offline meeting for a fruitful communication achievement. The organizing committee firmly believes that the ICCT conference is not only an opportunity to display research results, but also a promotive activity for in-depth exchanges and cooperation.
